Pat was born and raised in California. He started his programming career by convincing his employer that he could develop a better Trade Show application than the existing one, despite taking only one high school-level BASIC programming class many years ago. After completing the task, he realized his interest in programming and pursued it further. Pat returned to school to learn the fundamentals of programming, networking, and computers. He worked as a consultant for Herrick and was eventually hired full-time in 2012.
