The Red Building, along with its blue and green counterparts make up the Pacific Design Center, which houses the West Coast’s top decorating and furniture market, with showrooms, public and private spaces, a branch of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and two restaurants operated by chef and restaurateur Wolfgang Puck.
The striking color and geometry of the structure is a trumph of design, engineering and construction.
The Red Building consists of two towers that together contain 400,000 square feet built above a seven-story parking garage. The East Tower rises 16 stories and the West Tower tops out at the 14th floor. The geometry and the 120’ cantilever near San Vicente Boulevard added to the complexity of the steel erection.
